Give Yourself a Microcurrent Facial Treatment at Home
When you want to tone your body, you exercise. When you want to tone your face, you can do the same. But forget face yoga. Firm your skin with a microcurrent facial treatment. You can combine this method with skin-plumping creams and derma-rolling for best results.
In this review we’ll take a look at this non-invasive treatment that’s been popular for decades among movie stars, beauty experts, and the Royal Family. It used to only be available in doctor’s offices and spas. Advancing technology now shrinks it down for home use.
We’re talking about microcurrent facials. We’ll discuss one particular product, the Biosincron Beauty Star. But first, we’d like to tell you about what this treatment does to help skin look younger.
Micro-currents of electricity exercise your face
Microcurrent facials send a low-power current through your skin to contract muscles. In effect, your face will be doing exercise. You’ll feel a tingling sensation and your muscles will twitch a bit. You can control the amount of current, and therefore the amount of contraction, with products like the Beauty Star. Start with a low setting to get used to the way it feels.
After a session, you may notice that the areas you treated are a little bit sore. One person described it as feeling like she’d chewed a lot of gum for a while. Another said her face had a “good hurt” like she’d laughed a lot.
Exercise builds up structure
So why would you want to exercise your face? Because your face goes flat and then hollow as you age. Treatments that stimulate collagen growth, like lasers or derma-rolling, help your skin look plump and younger. Microcurrent treatments help your face muscles support the new collagen and renewed tissue. Many beauty experts combine these treatments to get the best results possible without resorting to surgery.
Use caution with electricity, even in small doses like these
Let’s get the warning out of the way. People who are pregnant, using a pacemaker or insulin pump, or have any other electronic device implanted in their skin should definitely avoid microcurrent treatments. Please also begin treatments at a low setting and slowly increase intensity.
One other thing to consider is which muscles you actually want to exercise. People that administer microcurrent facials in spas have (hopefully) been trained to know where to target treatments. Take care to not plump up your grimace muscles instead of your smiling muscle.
Now that we’ve talked about how microcurrent facials work, let’s take a look at the Beauty Star from Biosincron.
Biosincron Beauty Star
Biosincron’s Beauty Star is a wand that’s small enough to hold it in one hand while you do a treatment. It runs off a 9-volt battery that lasts about 100 hours. The rounded gold tip at the end is what you press against the area you want to treat.
How to use the Beauty Star:
- Wash and dry your skin
- Apply the conductive gel (included in the box) on your skin
- Gently slide the golden tip over the area you want to treat
- Change the intensity from 1-10 by turning the knob located near the golden tip
- Use for 25 minutes a day for the first week, then reduce treatments down to 3 to 5 minutes every other day
- Use it regularly to get the best results
The Beauty Star isn’t FDA-approved yet like some other microcurrent products are. Biosincron is a European company that says their products are certified to European standards.
Does the Beauty Star actually work?
Does this home-use microcurrent product actually work? Our best answer is yes, it works for some people. User reviews are mostly positive. (And yes, we do check FakeSpot to make sure the reviews are legit.)
Keep in mind that this kind of treatment takes time to show results. You’ll need to be consistent in using it.
In case you aren’t satisfied with the Beauty Star, Biosincron offers a money-back guarantee. We like that because it indicates they believe in their product enough to take a financial risk.
In general, microcurrent treatments have been very successful for many people around the world. Forget the face yoga that will probably give you more wrinkles. Try a microcurrent facelift in the privacy of your own home. Combine it with a serum to help your skin look healthier and feel more elastic.

So how long should I use Biosincron before I see any results? I have had mine for approximately a month and I can’t see any changes at all. I bought the unit because I have lip lines and sagging jowls with fine wrinkles happening just above chin line. I use my Biosincron faithfully…even daily…please advise.
